African Refuge is seeking dedicated students and volunteers who have a flexible schedule, and can dedicate at least 10-15 hours a week for at least one semester (3-4 months). The internship may be extended.
We are open to working with any level college student, particularly those studying and/or with a background in marketing, public relations, social work, international studies, history, education or English. We are also open to working with those who are interested in non-profit or service industries.
This is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing career in international development or affairs, social change, human rights, community organizing, forced migration or war trauma.
Internship/volunteer positions are not paid. However, these positions provide an opportunity for students and volunteers to develop new skills, gain volunteer experience, and learn about the rich culture of African immigrants and refugees, as well as the struggles of low-income families in urban America.
African Refuge thanks the following volunteers for dedicating their time and efforts to our continued operations:George Tarr
